I create humorous embroidery pieces, often featuring my feathered friend, Smoking Bird. These lighthearted works are stitched on linen that’s wrapped around canvas, ready to hang on your wall. (they're typically small, around 8"x10").
But my artistic journey doesn't stop there. I'm passionate about sustainability, so I also create mixed-media pieces in a series called "Metropolitan Life" that incorporate reused cardboard. Experimentation is key in my process – I embrace the unexpected! Sometimes happy accidents turn into creative breakthroughs, and that's what keeps the art exciting for me.
I’m lucky to have a wonderful small studio in town, that I share with my friend Heidi Petersen, who is a fabulous ceramic artist. Together we make a wonderful mess every day, working and laughing and egging each other on to not stop until we’re happy with our latest creation.
It’s a good life.
